Vacancy for a 5 months placement of a qualified Health & Safety Officer

 Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure that Health & Safety system, policy, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and communicated to all concerned
  • Ensure that the Company meets statutory obligations in all aspects relating to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting
  • Conduct regular Health and Safety inspections and submit recommendations to the Management about measures to be taken to prevent accidents, reduce hazards and risks within the workplace
  • Increase Health & Safety awareness at all levels within the organization
  • Act as liaison with all related governmental bodies and regulating agencies
  • Organize training sessions on occupational Health & Safety and maintain relevant records
  • Investigate and report as necessary all incidents, accidents and near misses occurring to staff, customers and other visitors
  • Investigate and report as necessary official complaints and/or comments received about hazardous working conditions
  • Deals with the subjects of health and safety across all company premises.

 

The below additional duties and responsibilities must be conducted with regards to the construction works currently taking place at the workplace.

  • Health and Safety inspections at the construction areas twice a day. Immediate response relating to corrective actions as/when required and maintenance of relevant records
  • Participation in weekly coordination meetings with the relevant stakeholders involved in the progress of the construction works
  • Coordination and management of work permits.  Liaise with the contractors and/or subcontractors in relation to the necessary documentation required for submission, review documentation, prepare and forward work permit applications to Airport Operator (i.e. Hermes) for approval
  • Liaise with the Health & Safety Coordinators of the construction project, Health & Safety Officers for any and all Health & Safety matters.
